I purchased this lamp and one other black one for our bedroom. This was a outstanding buy! It is larger than I expected, but it works well for me considering that I have two numerous night stands and mine is larger than average so make certain to review the measurements. The bottom (exactly where the lamp is mounted) is black, but the base is a dark brown with contrast stitching. The shade is pretty nice and soft as well.The lamp is not as well heavy, but not flimsy either.General, I truly like the lamp and definitely suggest it!

We purchased two for our bedroom and are extremely pleased.Here are some specifics that could help:The whole lamp (with shade) is 28" tall. The base of the lamp is 10" wide and four.5" deep. The shade is 15" wide, 10.5" tall and 8.five" deep. (I know that most of these measurements are currently listed, but I just wanted to confirm them right here.)An additional reviewer wrote that the lamp was bigger than expected, but we didn't feel that way. It is precisely the size of the published measurements, and it does not look bulky yet it does not appear flimsy either. It is proportional with our headboard.A superb thing about the lamp is that it doesn't take up significantly depth on our bedside tables thanks to the shape of the shade. The base of the lamp extends less than six inches from the back of our nightstand. Our old classic lamps had to be centered on the table and so took up more surface space.The shade is a microfiber suede-like material. The lamp itself has dark brown leather panels with white stitching. (The white stitching doesn't really show up in the photo, but it does in person.) At initial we had been disappointed that the stitching is white, but now we've grown to like it. We can continually stain it darker brown if we want, but we'll likely leave it as is.The leather looks and feels type of like nubbly tough-sided vinyl panels luxurious hand-sewn leather cannot be expected at this value. The contrast stitching provides it a way more leather-like appearance.The shade has a good glow when illuminated, and the tallness of the lamp offers light at a good angle for reading.Shipping was awesome from Amazon as usually (we are Prime members, so they arrived inside 48 hours) and they had been packed particularly effectively by the manufacturer.We are particularly content with the lamps and they add a lot of style to our bedroom.
