I bought this a single only simply because it suited my objective of a low-cost lamp that place off only a tiny light. For such a modest lamp and tiny bulb, it puts off a lot of light and perfectly lights the region I required only this size lamp and light in. In truth, it softly lights the complete area but keeps it brightest correct exactly where I wanted it to be.
Being female, the shade made it appear too considerably like a guy's lamp but I have because taken care of that. Also, for those like me who do not like the switch on the cord, I located that the touch switch I put on my little christmas tree also functions with the lamp. This is a cute small lamp, best for my nightstand. Finally, my primary concern was that it would be as well dim, since it is compact and the shade is a pretty dark color. But working with a 60 watt bulb puts out lots of light...adequate to read by at night with no other lights on. And you can't beat the value!
